We spend the time doing a personal treatment plan and make sure you understand every stage in creating your new denture. In most cases we can try your new denture in to check the feel and look and make sure it’s “you” and if needed make any adjustments, before your new dentures are finished.
When extraction of some or all of your teeth becomes unavoidable, an immediate denture is a possible solution. Immediate dentures are when your denture or dentures are made before you have your natural teeth removed. This process can save you being without teeth while your tissue and bone structure heal. This process can take a little extra time and work before and after the dentures are inserted as it take approximately 12 weeks for the tissue and bone structure to resorb and settle after your tooth or teeth are extracted.
A temporary liner or tissue conditioners may be required for your denture to ensure a comfortable fit during those 12 weeks as the bone and soft tissue changes and settles during that period. At the completion of the healing period, a permanent reline (new fitting surface) and sometimes a new denture may be constructed to ensure a comfortable and an exact fit. (This is an extra cost and not included as part of the immediate denture construction price)
